Day 4 New York Blue Skies and Much Much More!

What a difference a day makes! No longer are we in the deluge of a Nor'easter! We woke up to sunny skies! Still a little chilly but that is okay. We started off our day in Times Square, where we left off the previous evening. Last night when we got out of our play Times Square looked like it was daytime with all the light. Today it was all natural light. We ate in Times Square at Cranberry Deli then heading the 30 Rock.

We walked by a lot of theaters that do plays. This particular poster is funny. The play's name is The Play That Goes Wrong. Look closely at the bottom right actor and the close up of him.

Then it was time to go to The Top of the Rock at the Rockefeller Center. This isn't even in the top ten of tallest building in New York City but the views are the best. You can see all the way to the Statue of Liberty and on the other side way past Central Park. If we had tried it the day before we would of had a face full of clouds. Amazing views from up here!

We then took the subway again to Central Park. What an amazing place. In a city of over 8 million people, you can walk into Central Park and not hear the cars, sirens, horns..... 843 acres of park. Lots of people running, entertaining, relaxing, etc..... We walked from the west side of the park all the way over to the east side to the MET. Along the way we saw the famous Bethesda Fountain, lakes to play remote control boats or row your own. The verdict was the people rowing here needed some lessons......

Sitting down listening to the story and even raising hands!

Getting instructions about the Metropolitan Museum of Art, (MET)

We all split up into groups at the MET so the pictures I have are with the groups I was with.
 Rooftop Garden

 Rooftop!

Famous Tera Cotta Warriors on loan from China.

 Monet
Washington crossing the Delaware. Look at the size compared to the people standing in front of it. The painting is huge!

Temple of Dunder. This temple was taken apart one by one, shipped to New York, then put back together again.
Security is crazy around Trump Tower. Guards with machine guns, roads blocked off.
 Plaza Hotel

Looking up to the Top of the Rock
After browsing and shopping along 5th Avenue, we went to Little Italy for dinner. Before that we shopped around in the China Town area for souvenirs. You can bargain with the shops here. Some kids said the had success negotiating so that was great.
We ate dinner at Da Nico's. It is an Italian restaurant. Started with a salad and moved onto spaghetti and chicken parm. It ended with a pastry type dessert. We also got a last second and very brief visit from two people who worked at Kualapu'u not too long ago. Dan and Erin Garner. Erin was Ms. Morrison while at Kualapu'u. It was great to see them again even if for only a few minutes.

Erin and Dan Gardner visiting us! Both worked at Kualapu'u about five years ago.

After dinner we went to Mulberry Bend Park. The kids got to play on swings and some borrowed a basketball from a local New York boy and played a game of basketball with him. While the kids played the Mom's celebrated Mother's Day with some real New York Cheesecake. Happy Mother's Day moms!

Unfortunately our time with Robert was quickly coming to an end. Kualapu'u has been so lucky to have Robert be our New York tour guide now since 2013. He is an amazing tour guide and brings such enthusiasm and humor to his tours. Gets along great with the kids and is an all around outstanding person. I'm lucky to call him a friend from meeting him through our tours.

Mahalo again Robert for another amazing two days of touring with you. Can't wait to do it again in two years. And maybe we'll even see you in the islands before then!

Now it is off to Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. we go!!!!!!!
