The Final Day!

First another disclaimer. I apologize for any typos there may be. It's alway late when I do these and I can barely keep my eyes open so sometimes there is a mistake or two.

Also, please don't forget that you can right click an image and you can save as the picture for yourself!

Now....on to the final day!

Well, the final day was an interesting one. It was definitely the hottest day we've ever toured on any of the five previous tours! Upper 80's. In fact, at one point today it was the hottest location in the United States at 89 degrees with high humidity making it feel like 94!

So what should we do on a day like that......WALK a ton! We started the day at Arlington National Cemetery. We saw JFK and his Kennedy family graves. Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers. Then we went to Section 60 which has the remains of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. It was a great experience for the everybody to have.

We then went to Ford's Theatre where President Lincoln was shot. There is a great museum and we got to have a ranger talk inside the theater. Across the street where he died, they have a special selection of item to show. Unfortunately you couldn't take pictures of those items. Things like the gun that killed Lincoln, a flag with his blood on him, and the gun that killed him.

We then went to George Washington's home in Mt. Vernon, Virginia. It is a huge plantation and we walked all over it. There wasn't one single complaint about the heat at all........

It's only 90 degrees out so why not go to a blacksmith and see what he's doing!

White House!

After a quick White House picture opportunity we went to Alexandria, Virginia for our ghost tour. It was a ton of fun and we had a great leader telling us the stories. Maybe next time kids you'll think twice about your pink lemonade.....

Great stories
After the ghost tour it was sadly enough, time to say goodbye to our Tour Guide, Aaron. Aaron is a phenomenal tour guide and we are lucky to have had him again. Kualapu'u kids are lucky that he has now done three of the five trips! He's a terrific person so thanks a ton Aaron.

Thanks again for sending your children on this experience. It is an amazing trip and we see and learn and try so many new things. These kids were great. They were a hilarious, smart, energetic when they wanted to be group. They got along well with one another. Traveling for 10 days together will do that to you.

Our next step is to wake up in a few hours and travel for 20 hours to get back home! We shall see you at the airport at 6:00 pm to take us home! Thank you again parents and students. You are truly an amazing group of people and I'm lucky I got to lead a group like you on this trip! Thank you!
Aloha Aaron

See ya next time
